Marketplace Terms & Third-Party Disclosures
Nationwide United States marketplace terms for homeowners, advertisers and service professionals. Last updated November 1, 2026. Terms version: 2026-11-01-us-v1.
1. Independent marketplace, not a service provider
Home Solar Simplified provides an online platform where users may publish requests, advertise solar-related goods or services, and communicate with one another. Unless expressly identified in a separate written agreement, Home Solar Simplified does not itself provide, supervise, employ or control third-party advertisers or their services. Third-party advertisers are independent businesses or individuals, not employees, agents, representatives, partners, joint venturers or affiliates of Home Solar Simplified solely because they are listed on this platform.
2. No endorsement, verification guarantee or warranty
Publication, moderation, approval of a listing, appearance in search results or payment of advertising fees does not constitute endorsement, certification, sponsorship, recommendation or a guarantee by Home Solar Simplified. Profiles, descriptions, service areas, license claims, prices, photographs, reviews and other content may be supplied by users. Any checks or moderation undertaken are limited and do not replace independent due diligence. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the platform and third-party content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without guarantees of accuracy, availability, fitness, quality, safety or uninterrupted access.
3. Direct dealings and responsibility for services
Advertisers are responsible for their own representations, offers, estimates, licenses, insurance, permits, employees, subcontractors, work, safety, warranties, taxes, and compliance with law. Homeowners and other customers choose whom to contact and hire. Unless expressly agreed in writing, any negotiations, service contracts, payments for work, performance obligations, complaints, refunds, damages and disputes regarding third-party work are between the customer and the advertiser—not Home Solar Simplified. Marketplace listing fees, if any, pay for advertising and are not payments for contractor services.
4. Check licenses and protect yourself
Before hiring, independently verify the provider's identity, active license and license classification where required, insurance, references, permit obligations and written contract. Do not rely on a self-reported license status or a platform approval as proof of qualification. For California projects, verify a contractor or home-improvement salesperson with the California Contractors State License Board. For projects outside California, consult the relevant state contractor licensing board, professional regulator, state attorney general, and local permitting authority. Licensing, insurance, advertising disclosures, contracts, cancellation rights, payment rules and consumer protections vary by state and locality. Get detailed written estimates and never share passwords, payment credentials or unnecessary sensitive information in messages.
5. Advertiser representations and posting rules
By posting, advertisers represent that their statements are truthful and not misleading; that they hold and maintain all legally required licenses, registrations, bonds and insurance for the services and locations advertised; and that they will comply with consumer-protection, advertising, privacy, safety, contractor and other applicable laws. Where required, advertisements must display valid contractor license information. Advertisers must not claim affiliation, endorsement, employment or agency with Home Solar Simplified without written authorization. Spam, fraudulent claims, impersonation, unsafe services, prohibited content and unauthorized use of another person's information are forbidden.
6. Advertising, moderation and placement
Paid advertisements and sponsored placements must be identified as advertising. Payment, ranking or placement is not a credential check or endorsement. Home Solar Simplified may review, reject, edit for categorization, suspend, remove or restrict listings or accounts to enforce marketplace rules or applicable law. Moderation is not a promise that all unlawful or inaccurate content will be detected. Advertisers remain responsible for their postings. Advertising fees, billing, cancellation and refunds are subject to the terms shown at checkout and applicable law; no statement here waives mandatory refund or consumer rights.
7. Communications and privacy
Users are responsible for the messages and information they voluntarily share with other users. The platform may store messages and reports to operate the service, enforce rules and investigate abuse, subject to its applicable privacy disclosures. Advertisers must obtain any consent legally required before contacting users, and must honor opt-outs. Home Solar Simplified does not authorize unsolicited marketing merely because someone viewed a listing or submitted an unrelated inquiry.
8. Liability and applicable rights
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Home Solar Simplified disclaims responsibility for third-party acts, omissions, representations, service performance, property damage, personal injury, loss, fraud or disputes arising from independent third-party dealings. This section does not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for Home Solar Simplified's own conduct where applicable, or waive nonwaivable consumer rights. No statement on this page creates immunity from legal claims.
9. Separate homeowner installation intake
New residential solar and battery installation inquiries follow Home Solar Simplified's separate controlled intake process and are not automatically distributed to marketplace advertisers. That process may involve separate disclosures, consent requirements and terms. Third-party classifieds do not confer any right to receive those inquiries.
10. Nationwide coverage and local legal requirements
This marketplace may display advertisements and requests from across the United States, including Washington, D.C. Advertisers must comply with all federal, state, county, municipal and other applicable laws in each jurisdiction where they advertise or perform work. A listing visible nationwide does not establish that a provider may lawfully work in every state. Federal and state rules concerning advertising, telemarketing, privacy, contractor licensing, insurance, solar financing, home-improvement contracts, consumer cancellation rights and warranties may apply. The platform does not promise that a generic disclaimer overrides those requirements.
11. Legal review and governing agreements
This page is a marketplace-specific disclosure and operating policy. Other applicable website terms, privacy disclosures, written provider agreements and mandatory laws may also apply. In a conflict, nonwaivable legal rights control. Material changes should be disclosed to users as required by law. Before enabling public paid listings or relying on these provisions in a dispute, have qualified U.S. counsel experienced in nationwide online marketplaces, with state-specific review where necessary, review the complete legal documents, contracting entity, privacy practices, advertising rules and enforceable acceptance process.
